Boyne Valley Garden Tour

Saturday 29 April | 10.30am | Meet at Highlanes Gallery, Laurence St.

TICKETS: €20 (includes bus, morning coffee/tea at Rosemount)

Climb aboard the festival bus and venture out to some of the Boyne Valley Garden Trail highlights. First stop is Rosemount, once a commercial orchard sloping down to the treacherous river Nanny, but which today, is an enchanted riverscape garden set on ten acres, studded with a collection of unusual trees and outhouses. The tour then moves to Julianstown Village Garden, an award-winning community garden, until recently a derelict three acre site, but now transformed into a beautiful garden with many fascinating features, including an orchard, woodland, flowerbeds, soft fruit bushes, herbs, and a pond and where biodiversity encourages bees and butterflies. The final visit is to Neoclassical Rokeby Hall, built by architect Francis Johnston, with its Richard Turner designed conservatory.

Expect to return to Drogheda just after 1.00pm. Ticket price includes bus, morning coffee/tea at Rosemount. Dress for the weather.
