The word ‘cumann’ tends to be associated with politics and party branches. However, it means much more. It translates as society, as association, as club, as friendship, as company, as community.

Cumann is an exhibition celebrating this. It reclaims the word for all those it represents. It celebrates people; their bonds and connections, their relationships and friendships.

Cumann is an ambitious series of spatial sound installations by artist Michael McLoughlin, developed through meetings and recordings with local communities.
