Droichead Arts Centre Exhibition: Between Worlds | Orlaith Cullinane, Patrick Dillon, Daria Ivanishchenko, Sallyanne Morgan

Opening at 3.30pm, on Sat 3 May. All welcome.
Curated by our Visual Arts Curator in Residence Dorothy Smith.

Artists often challenge us to abandon fixed world views and enter with them into the spaces between, where boundaries blur and certainties and binaries are questioned.  The artists in Between Worlds negotiate these liminal spaces. Orlaith Cullinane’s high-energy bronze figures transcend animal-human boundaries; Daria Ivanyshchenko’s paintings and video tell of experiencing the reality of living between two places that are both ‘home’; Sallyanne Morgan’s women don a delicate armour that speaks to unpredictable currents of change, survival, and adaptation; Pat Dillon’s paintings explore television as a persistent presence and as a portal to another world. The work in Between Worlds rejects perceived certainties and accepted binary positions and asks us to join this exploration and reconsider our own preconceptions.
