DAF Big Day Out Presents…

Join us in Dominics Park, Drogheda on Monday May 2nd for a day of free music, events and activities, for all ages.

 

Out Of The Deep Blue | Come meet Eko, a sea giant who rises from the deep ocean and who encounters, on the shore, a courageous little girl called Violet. Drogheda Arts Festival are delighted to programme the Irish premiere of Out Of The Deep Blue Sea and Autin Dance Theatre. This spectacle performance has been made especially for family and festival audiences. Meet Eko and his friends in Dominics Park this May Bank Holiday Monday and follow their story. Suitable for all ages

Bricí Spraoi | Come explore Bricí Spraoi! An imagination playground especially designed for children. With lots of big blue blocks, in various shapes and sizes – squares, channels, chutes, balls, connectors and more, children can build, explore and create whatever their imagination likes! Suitable for ages 3-10 years of age, and their families.

 

 

 

 

 

Cycle Circus | An outdoor show for all the family, a celebration of circus, the human body, the bicycle—and a lot of craic! There’s no need to travel to the big top! With acrobatics, juggling, hula hoops, slapstick, bottle walking, solo and group numbers—this show is all human and all skill! Suitable for family and festival audiences.  Created by Ken Fanning, Tina Segner and the Tumble Circus ensemble. Suitable for all ages

 

 

Goodnight Egg | Join Bombinate Theatre as they present Goodnight Egg, made especially for children and families. Sometimes it can be hard to sleep. Our minds wander and we can’t keep our eyes shut. But tonight, things will be different. Cross your fingers (and toes)! Goodnight Egg is a joyful new show from the award-winning creators of Half Light and Susie and the Story Shredder. Suitable for under 7s, and their families.

Please note this is an outdoor event, you are welcome to bring your own blankets, chairs and cushions

Drogheda Brass Band has served the town for over 126 continuous years and has performed at all the major civic occasions in the town during that time. We look forward to having them at Drogheda Arts Festival – Big Day Out!

 

1:45 Marquee Stage: International Song Group

The International Song Group encourages women to come together in a safe environment to collectively embark on a journey that encourages the members to develop their singing skills, exchange songs from their individual traditions and develop cultural links between the various communities that make up Irish society.

Artistic and technical facilitation is led by singer-songwriter Farah Elle and singing instructor and recording artist Caroline Moreau.

2:30 Marquee Stage: Drogheda Brass Band

Drogheda Brass Band has served the town for over 126 continuous years and has performed at all the major civic occasions in the town during that time. We look forward to having them at Drogheda Arts Festival – Big Day Out!

3:30 Marquee Stage: Trad In The Park:

Music at The Gate will be putting on a free family friendly event that promotes traditional Irish music in Drogheda. Bring an instrument. Musicians, singers and dancers are encouraged.
